Poor Roofing Job Are there shingles falling off your roof already even though you just had it installed a few months ago? This is an obvious sign of a poor roofing job. The shingles on a roof should stay strong for years to come when they’re installed the right way. Take a look at several other signs of a poor roofing job below.

Lack of uniformity in your roof

When you look at one part of your roof and then look at another, the two parts should look exactly the same. There shouldn’t be shingles that are different sizes or different colors. If there are, it’s a sign that your roofing company didn’t do a very good job on your roof. Moreover, it’s going to take a toll on the way your roof looks for a long time.

No drip edge flashing

Drip edge flashing plays a very important part in your roof. It’s installed around the edges of your roof to stop water damage from setting in. It can also prevent pests from getting into your attic space. Check to see that your roofing contractor installed drip edge flashing before they finish up with your roof. If they don’t do it, it could cause a whole host of problems for you later and force you to replace your roof sooner than expected.

Improper shingle nailing

If your roofing company doesn’t use the right nails for your roof and put them in the right places, it could be a big issue for you later on. The nails that are used need to be corrosion-resistant, which means they should be made out of either stainless steel or galvanized steel. Your roofing contractor should also avoid over-driving your nails or putting nails too close to the edges of your shingles.
