Ceiling water damage due to leaky roof Now’s a good time to have Roofing by Bruce inspect your roof to see if it has any leaks. Roofing by Bruce is located in East Stroudsburg, PA, in the Poconos. Working weekdays, Roofing by Bruce can be reached by calling 570-424-8891.

Concrete Evidence

How do you know if you have a leaky roof? Well, for starters, a professional estimate can definitely help determine what’s going on “up there.”

But you might already have seen some evidence that you’ve got a roof leak. Have you noticed a water stain on the ceiling? It usually looks like a puddle ringed with brown. Basically, if there’s discoloration on your ceiling– or walls– then you might have a leak. And if mold is growing there, that’s also indicative of some sort of leak or problem that warrants further investigation.

Drips

If and when you notice water dripping in your house, you might have a leaky roof. This is especially true when there’s a rainstorm overhead. Water is looking for somewhere to go, and if you see drips in your home, it’s finding its way inside where you don’t want it!

Exterior Tells

Take a look outside and visually inspect your exterior walls. Do you see water spots under the roof line, where the walls meet the roof? If so, you might have a problem with your flashing. And if you notice moss growing on your wall(s), your downspouts might not be working well.

Finally, if you notice your roof has missing or damaged shingles, that could be a spot where water is leaking into the home. You can also look for granular debris accumulating in your gutters or downspouts as evidence that your roof needs some attention.

Before the snow flies, get your Poconos-area roof inspected by Roofing by Bruce. Fall is an ideal time to schedule a roofing estimate to check for leaks that could be repaired before winter brings with it melting snow and ice. Call 570-424-8891 to make your appointment today.
